Canon PowerShot SX1 IS Review
The Canon PowerShot SX1 IS pioneered the class of super-zoom cameras in 2004. While it bears some similarities with the SX10 IS, you can easily distinguish the SX1 IS because of the additional sensor at the front panel of the camera as well as its larger 2.8 inches LCD.
There are other features that separate the Canon PowerShot SX1 IS from other cameras of its class. Rather than using charge-coupled device (CCD), it uses complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) which is responsible for high-noise immunity and low static power consumption.
The Canon PowerShot SX1 IS is a hybrid camera allowing you to take still pictures and record a movie in a single button. Unlike a CCD-type camera, a CMOS device reduces the likelihood of capturing light.
The Powershot SX1 IS fully captures images in high definition and not only captures pictures in JPEG but also in RAW format. Its 20x optical zoom capacity provides a wide range of 28 to 560 mm which is equivalent to a 35-mm camera.
The Canon PowerShot SX1 IS has external buttons and controls provides accessibility to shooting modes and other configurations that you want to change such as ISO settings, white balance, and continuous shooting modes. The back panel contains buttons arranged accordingly so as not to make it difficult for the thumb when shooting.
