One main feature that the new DIGIC III Image Processor helps with is the Face Detection Technology. Having this feature will make you wonder how you ever took portraits without it. When enabled, this camera will automatically recognize the faces in the picture area, then automatically adjust certain features such as flash to make sure faces don’t come up underexposed or overexposed. The Canon PowerShot SX110 IS also has Motion Detection Technology so that you can get the pictures you want, without blur from fast moving people or objects. Canon does this by comparing the background to whatever it is that you are trying to capture then adjusts certain settings to make sure you come out with a clear image that will impress friends and family.
To put scene modes on this camera, you have the option of choosing between Auto, P, Av, Tv, M, Landscape, Easy, Portrait, Special Scene (Foliage, Snow, Beach, Sunset, Fireworks, Aquarium, Night Scene, ISO 3200), Indoor, Kids & Pets, Night Snapshot or movie mode. You also have the option to put Vivid, Sepia, Black & White, Neutral and custom photo effects on your images.
